WITNESS is a project about observing human behavior and questioning truth through the lens of photography. By moving the medium of photography away from aestheticization into something observational, the experience of everyday life is captured entirely untouched by the creator’s perspective. The photographs explore the dozens of moods and rhythms coexisting within social spaces, capturing public interaction, leisure, and daily routines at the beach and in the city.
Specific parameters drive the photographic process to disempower the creator, which leads to the highest form of objectivity. Nothing is intentionally composed, photographs are not altered, and images were taken every 30 seconds without looking through the viewfinder. WITNESS offers a gaze at the flux of life by capturing reality in a way that differs from conventional journalism and documentary.

The virtual gallery presents WITNESS, a solo exhibition featuring images reflecting on the possibility of truth in photography. It brings together two series of photographs (The Beach & The City), each presented in one room. The purpose of the visual language is to emphasize the aspects of realness and objectivity. Therefore, the images curate themself according to their metadata. By that means, the pictures are arranged in their original order of the photoshoot in a very pure, realistic, and monochromatic style that represents the photographs’ visual narrative. This curation approach simultaneously highlights that each picture is less of an artwork and more of a functional storytelling piece that takes the viewer on an observational journey.
